Parenting Consultant
A parenting consultant (PC) can be appointed by a court to provide guidance and support to parents navigating challenges related to co-parenting, custody arrangements, and family dynamics. A PC can only be appointed if both parties agree to the PC involvement. The PC is granted decision-making authority over disputes related to parenting time or child-related issues. PC services are often used in high-conflict situations to help parents resolve disputes, improve communication, and make decisions in the best interest of their children without the need for repeat, or ongoing, court involvement.
A PC is typically appointed for a set period of time, with two years being the standard period.
We will work with you, the other party and/or involved attorney(s) to draft an order for the court to appoint Rachel or Delmar as a PC.
The PC’s role is focused on the well-being of the child while hopefully helping parents create stable, cooperative relationships.
A parenting consultant may:
Facilitate co-parenting agreements and conflict resolution.
Provide recommendations for parenting time and custody issues.
Help parents develop effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Offer guidance on child development and best parenting practices.
Make recommendations as to additional therapeutic or other supports for parents and children.
